The two fragrances

SOMA · White Musk. As it is lit, a fresh, clear note settles in the room, light and unobtrusive, like a clean morning after a quiet night. At its heart a soft, delicately powdery white musk unfolds. In the base, a warm, sensual impression of skin remains.

SAMSARA · Vanilla. From the moment it is lit, a warm, sweet vanilla spreads out, soft and inviting. At its heart it turns creamy and round, with a fine hint that recalls caramel and warm tonka. The base lingers and wraps gently around you.

Which one suits you? SOMA is clear, fresh and pure and belongs to the morning. SAMSARA is warm, sweet and enveloping and belongs to the evening. Both are discreet; neither fills the whole room.

How to use

The first time you light the candle, let it burn until the entire surface has melted. It will then burn down evenly later on and no tunnel forms in the middle.

Trim the wick to about five millimetres before every lighting. That keeps the flame calm and the candle low in soot. Burn time is around 40 hours.

SOMA · White Musk: Cera Alba (beeswax), Parfum. Contains Linalool, Hexyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal. May cause an allergic reaction.

SAMSARA · Vanilla: Cera Alba (beeswax), Parfum. Contains Benzyl Alcohol. May cause an allergic reaction.

The wax is pure beeswax, without paraffin and without soy wax. The scent comes from a carefully balanced fragrance.

Safety notes & storage

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children and pets. Place it on a heat-resistant, level surface and keep at least ten centimetres away from other candles and from anything flammable.

Protect from draughts. The glass becomes hot while burning, so move it only once it has cooled. Remove any wick remains from the liquid wax.

Store cool, dry and away from direct sunlight. Over time beeswax can develop a pale, natural bloom. This is not a fault and can be wiped off with a soft cloth.

Why beeswax instead of paraffin or soy?

Paraffin is a by-product of the petroleum industry. Soy wax often comes from intensive agriculture and is heavily processed. Beeswax, by contrast, is a pure natural product. It burns more slowly, with pleasantly little soot and a warm, golden flame.

How do SOMA and SAMSARA differ?

SOMA carries a clear, fine white musk and suits bright hours. SAMSARA is warmer and sweeter with a gentle vanilla and suits quiet evenings. Both are discreet and never intrusive.

Does the candle smell when it is not lit?

Slightly. Beeswax naturally carries a delicate note of honey, and the fragrance adds to it. The full effect only unfolds once the wax surface is liquid.

How long does the candle burn?

Around 40 hours when used properly. If you trim the wick before every lighting, it burns more evenly and lasts longer.

Why does a hole burn down the middle?

That is called tunnelling and happens when the candle burns for too short a time the first time round. Right from the first lighting, let it burn until the entire surface is liquid.

What is the pale film on the wax?

Over time beeswax develops a natural, pale bloom. It is not a fault; on the contrary, it shows that the wax is genuine. It can be wiped off with a soft cloth.

Can I reuse the glass?

Yes. Once the candle has burned down, the wax can be washed out and the glass used on as a small container.
